Exciting news folks!!! We will be throwing our first KRISTINA RECORDS party on Saturday 10 December at the Shacklewell Arms, just round the corner from us. We’ve got the brilliant JUJU & JORDASH playing live! (rare london appearance!!) and WILLIE BURNS (L.I.E.S./WT Records/Creme Organization) will be DJing. These guys rarely play in london and we’re super excited to have them over…Should be a killer party!! Cheap advance tickets on sale now… Plus, our shop christmas party is also on the 10th with some very special live indie pop guests, its free and it starts from 7pm watch this space!
We’ve got double the in store fun for you on friday and saturday this weekend (the 18th and 19th of Nov.) Blackest Ever Black’s Raime are playing records on Friday to celebrate the release of their new 12″, expect industrial, post punk, dub and other murky weirdness! And on Saturday we have a rare uk appearance by Malcolm Moore, Malcolm hails from San Francisco and runs the excellent Altered Moods Recordings. Specialising in deep, ambient atmospheric house music, they have released records by artists such as Rick Wade, RezKar, Serendipity, Specter, Jenifa Mayanja and Malcolm himself. Both nights start at 7pm and are free, come down!
Some great new bits in the racks! Beautiful world psych reissues from Shadoks including Zambian psych from Amanaz and Witch, Tirogo from Nigeria and a much needed vinyl issue of “One in Versailles” an early classic by the Shoes. Some more world psych on Guerssen: Turkish bits from Baris Manco and 3 hur el along with classic baroque pop from West Coast Pop Art Experimental Band off shoot Markley. last few copies of Jurgen Muller’s aquatic kraut classic “science of the sea” on green vinyl and a timely re issue of legendary punk producer (Suicide, Ramones etc.) Craig Leon’s “Nommos” originally released on John Fahey’s Takoma label. New Mississippi bits from Dead Moon and Mahmoud Ahmed Plus, on the dance side, new 12″s from Kassem Mosse, Legowelt, Vakula, a restock of the brilliant 12″ by Hannes Netzell on Junkyard Connections and two public service represses from Mike Huckaby.
Sad news folks. Hieroglyphic Being has been unable to make it in to the country due to some unforeseen circumstances so Monday’s in-store is off. Sorry we know lots of people were looking forward to this, there are some disappointed people in liverpool and Bristol as well as us in London! Hopefully we can re-arrange it for another time so watch this space!
